Visitors look on aghast at a blood red Stone of Anointing, in the
Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Moments earlier a
nun had poured two large
bottles of red fluid over the stone, which marks the traditional location
where Jesus'
body was prepared for burial. Other pilgrims hastened to
scrub the stone clean with hankerchiefs and rags.
